American Bison

 I drove through the Badlands on my way to Wyoming. I had never seen a landscape so fierce and so wild. It filled me with a sense of freedom; my soul felt battered by the sheer introspection. As I was leaving, I drove through a herd of bison. They were so close I could have put my hand out my car window and touched them. I could see the fine details of their soft, golden eyes, and as I looked deeply into them I could see, in this creature, the same spirit of the badlands encapsulated in this mighty creature.
